That is why you always see the turrets blown off of every T-72 tank hit with any light anti-armor weapon. The T-72 practically self-destructs. BMP-2: Do you know why you always see russian soldier riding outside of the armored personnel carrier? Because the engine compartment is right under the troop compartment. It becomes about 80 degrees (C), inside from the heat of the engine. Soldiers prefer to get shot at on top of the BMP-2 than to sit inside in that heat. This is all the useless information I have from 10 years in the US army.
